Newport City Footbridge Preparation and Painting

Tender description

Newport City Council are issuing this speculative notice to understand the market/interested companies to tender for the preparation and painting of Newport City Footbridge.The contract will require roped access specialists with a knowledge of rust treatment and paintwork to the metal surfaces of the bridge with brush or roller. Whilst the bridge has been cleaned this year it is expected that a light jet wash of the painted areas will be needed before the surfaces can be painted once again.The site work will start in March / April 2025 and be completed within 2 months.A paint inspection has been carried out in 2024.The contractor will need to supply appropriate paints, treatments and be responsible for their own Health & Safety and safety of the public nearby. The bridge can be closed from 09:30 until 15:30 weekdays only.
