Tender description
The requirement is for the inspection, servicing and certification of emergency lighting and fire alarm systems at various Dublin Bus premises in Dublin. The contract will be for a three-year term with the option to extend for a further 2 no. 12-month extensions upon agreement by both parties. The work is to be carried out in accordance with Irish standard I.S. 3217 and I.S. 3218, to include both the quarterly and annual inspection requirements detailed in the standards. The contractor must provide Dublin Bus with test and certification certificates after each inspection and must develop and maintain a service history of the systems and equipment for each of the locations involved. Test certification must be left on local fire register file after each service and the register’s contractor log signed off. The electronic copy of each test certificate must be emailed into the Clerk of Works Dept within 1 weeks of each site visit. Following inspections, the contractor is to report to the Bus Átha Cliath supervisor/manager in each location regarding any missing or non-serviceable units needing replacement and then to the Clerk of Works Department at Broadstone. Items requiring immediate action are to be agreed with the local supervisor. The Clerk of Works Department will authorise regarding the supply of any new equipment.

About the buyer
Dublin Bus is the state-owned bus operator for Dublin and a subsidiary of CIÉ. A Procurement Department at Phibsboro Road buys all supplies and services for the company. Spare parts and trim items for the bus fleet are a core part of that buying. Electronic submission is typically required. Many tenders are multi-supplier framework agreements. Recent notices cover bus parts, electrical components and depot software. The department says it follows government guidelines and EU directives applicable to state bodies.
Over the past 5 years, most of Dublin Bus/Bus Atha Cliath's contract awards have been in repair and maintenance, transport equipment and business services.
