Tender description
This project is being commissioned as part of a funding award to Nestrans from a 20 million GBP Scottish Government investment during 2026/27 as part of the Tackling Child Poverty Delivery Plan, which will support measures to address the affordability, accessibility and availability barriers of transport to employment, helping to address the cost of living crisis and child poverty by saving people money in travelling to work and opening up opportunities for employment and skills training that will increase household incomes. This funding is being distributed across the seven Regional Transport Partnerships (RTPs) and the 32 Local Employability Partnerships (LEPs) across Scotland. Nestrans has received a grant award of 985,809 GBP for the 2026/27 financial year out of a total award to the RTPs of 11 million GBP. This funding will help to deliver on national strategy (Bringing Hope, Building Futures: Tackling child poverty delivery plan 2026-2031) plus regional and local strategies. Getabout is the established mechanism that Nestrans and partners use when engaging with employers and the private sector regarding transport needs and travel behaviours across the region. This can range from encouraging the use of existing sustainable travel measures or looking towards a more tailored approach with travel planning for specific workplaces. This project looks to evolve this engagement utilising the GetAbout brand, heightening impact by delivering on five distinct workstreams. Lot 1: This Invitation to Tender seeks proposals to support the utilisation and promotion of the sustainable travel brand for the region, Getabout; focused on transport to employment in the north east of Scotland. This commission is being funded by the Scottish Government following a grant award to Nestrans as part of the Transport to Employment programme, addressing transport barriers as part of delivering on the national child poverty strategy: Bringing Hope, Building Futures: Tackling child poverty delivery plan 2026-2031. Nestrans has been awarded 985,809 GBP during 2026/27 with Regional Transport Partnerships collectively being awarded 11 million GBP. A further 9 million GBP has been distributed across the 32 Local Employment Partnerships (LEPs) across Scotland. This commission is designed to assist in targeted messaging and improving engagement with employers, employees and communities around transport to employment.. The procurement will be conducted using the Public Contracts Scotland (PCS) portal. All documentation, clarification and tender submissions will be managed electronically via PCS, including use of the Postbox facility.
