Tender description

East Lothian Council intends to procure a contractor to undertake habitat enhancement works at Barns Ness SSSI, including pond creation, selective scrub management and pollinator habitat construction. The project aims to improve biodiversity and ecological resilience within this environmentally sensitive coastal site. Contractors with relevant ecological, conservation and environmental works experience are invited to express interest. Lot 1: East Lothian Council is seeking to engage with suitably experienced contractors ahead of a future procurement opportunity for the delivery of environmental enhancement works at Barns Ness, a nationally important coastal Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). The proposed works include the creation of freshwater ponds, selective gorse reduction and removal, and the construction of pollinator habitat features to support biodiversity, habitat connectivity and ecological resilience. The Council is interested in hearing from contractors with experience in habitat creation, ecological restoration, environmental conservation and working within environmentally sensitive sites..
