Tender description
A research project using quantitative methods, to gauge what relevant organisations in the heritage, charity, public, third, and development sectors think about Historic England (see 'expected audiences', below), and its work. The aim of the project is to gather useful insights from our stakeholders to inform Historic England's activities across a number of areas, including improving our strategic communications development, identifying means of improving our stakeholder engagement and how we deliver services, and more broadly, such as our corporate priorities. We will be able to provide more substantive details on the objectives as part of a kick-off session with the preferred supplier. About the buyer
Historic England is the government's statutory adviser on the historic environment, and buys as a non-departmental public body sponsored by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. Operational departments manage their own procurements, backed by a central Procurement Team that oversees compliance. All suppliers register on the organisation's tendering portal, In-Tend, where every requirement is advertised and tendered electronically. Larger requirements also appear on Contracts Finder, with the biggest contracts advertised via the Find a Tender service. Central framework arrangements set up by the Government Commercial Agency or individual departments cover much of this procurement.
Procurement spend from central entities makes up 66% of overall UK public spend.
Over the past 5 years, most of Historic England's contract awards have been in business services, IT services and research and development.
