About the buyer

Gov Facility Services Limited is a government-owned, not-for-profit company delivering facility maintenance across prisons in the south of England. The Ministry of Justice created it in 2018 to take over prison maintenance work after Carillion's collapse. Around 1,000 staff transferred across from the previous contractor when the company began. HM Prison and Probation Service oversees the roughly 49 prisons the company maintains. A dedicated supply chain team handles enquiries from suppliers of goods and corporate services. Open tenders for these contracts are published through Find a Tender and Contracts Finder, alongside the Ministry of Justice's wider procurement guidance.

£434bn was the total UK public sector procurement spend in FY 2025/26.

Over the past 5 years, most of Gov Facility Services Limited's contract awards have been in construction work, electrical equipment and lighting and construction materials.
