Tender description
The University of Exeter currently has a number of diparate systems managing our extensive Research Facilities with combined functionality covering areas such as; space booking, asset tracking, maintenance, cost recovery, with many other facility management processes handled locally and manually across differing areas. With several of these existing solutions nearing end of Contract, the University has a time-sensitive opportunity to rethink its approach. Rather than replace like-for-like, we are seeking to implement a centralised, digital Facility Management System that streamlines operations, enables robust cost recovery, supports strategic planning, and improves the user experience for both internal and external stakeholders. This early market engagement exercise seeks to identify potential suppliers who can provide a flexible, scalable, and user-friendly solution aligned with the University's wider digital and sustainability goals. We are particularly interested in systems that are able to integrate well with other commonly used Higher Education/laboratory management platforms, and suppliers that have a proven track record within the sector. About the buyer
University of Exeter is a higher education institution that runs its own procurement centrally through a dedicated Procurement Services team. Much of this procurement flows through frameworks including the Southern Universities Purchasing Consortium and the Crown Commercial Service. Catering contracts run through the separate TUCO framework. Competitive tendering, not a fixed list of approved suppliers, decides who wins the work in the end.
Over the past 5 years, most of University of Exeter's contract awards have been in construction work, IT services and laboratory and precision equipment.
