About the buyer
BlueLight Commercial is the national contracting authority for the blue light sector, set up by the Home Office and policing in 2020. Police and Crime Commissioners and Deputy Mayors of the 43 forces across England and Wales own the organisation, alongside fire and rescue authorities. A board of commissioners and chief officers sets its commercial direction.
National policing bodies and individual forces feed tenders into its shared commercial pipeline.
Over the past 5 years, most of BlueLight Commercial's contract awards have been in software and information systems, IT services and industrial machinery.
