Tender description

North Northamptonshire Council (hereafter referred to as "The Council") invites quotations for the preparation of a feasibility study to provide workable plans to protect, develop, and enhance Irchester and Sywell Country Parks, in economically and financially sustainable ways. After reviewing current provision and consulting with staff and stakeholders, the study will provide a baseline position for future options and opportunities. We also seek financial estimates and an evaluation of the funding opportunities available to enable delivery of the options identified in the study. The Council has budgeted up to a maximum of £50,000 (exclusive of VAT) for a comprehensive feasibility study to provide workable plans to protect, develop, and enhance Irchester and Sywell Country Parks, in environmentally and financially sustainable ways. After reviewing current provision and consulting with staff, volunteers, on-site business owners/tenants, and key members, the study will provide a baseline position for future options and opportunities. Should you wish to take part in the selection process please complete the attached RFQ and return via email to the Officer detailed rebecca.jenkins@northnorthants.gov.uk no later than the deadline date.

About the buyer

North Northamptonshire Council is a unitary local authority that runs procurement through its own dedicated in-house team. Larger contracts are advertised publicly through the government's Find a Tender service once they pass a set value threshold. Suppliers register and submit their bids electronically through the council's e-procurement portal, ProContract. Smaller purchases are sourced through written quotations, with a clear preference for suppliers based locally. Mid-value contracts move through a more formal request-for-quotation process ahead of any public advertising. A public contracts register lists every active agreement the council currently holds with its suppliers.

UK local government drives £140bn in annual procurement, led by social protection (£66.6bn) and education (£57.1bn).

Over the past 5 years, most of North Northamptonshire Council's contract awards have been in construction work, business services and health and social work.
