Tender description
As part of the Clyde and Loch Lomond Flood Risk Management Plan 2022 – 2028, North Lanarkshire Council is required to undertake a flood and surface water study within Wishaw to improve the understanding of flood risk and identify opportunities to reduce impacts on people, property, infrastructure and the environment. Lot 1: Services within the requirement may include but are not limited to: -Mobilise the commission, establish project governance, file management, quality assurance arrangements, model check records and a clear action and decision log. -Prepare and maintain the Accepted Programme in Microsoft Project, showing the baseline and current programme so that progress against each activity and the Completion Date can be reviewed. -Hold an inception meeting and undertake a site visit to confirm the study area, available information, stakeholder requirements, programme, key constraints and practical assumptions for the study and model development. -Arrange monthly Client progress meetings. Each meeting will review progress against the Accepted Programme, current risks, early warnings, compensation events, cost estimates, actions and decisions. -Assess the adequacy, currency, accuracy and suitability of the available information, identify material data, survey, hydrological or hydraulic modelling gaps and record the assumptions needed to progress the study. -Prepare a Data Review and Modelling Requirements Note setting out the information reviewed, data limitations and recommendations for any additional survey or modelling requirements. Procurement of new survey is not included in this fee proposal. -Review the available hydrological information and undertake proportionate hydrological analysis using appropriate FEH/ReFH2 methods and available data to derive the agreed fluvial design flows and hydrographs for the modelled watercourses. -Prepare, check and document the model inflows, downstream boundaries and associated assumptions for the agreed design-event set. -Review relevant existing hydraulic modelling and update or develop a coupled 1D/2D hydraulic model, as required, to assess flood mechanisms, flood extents and flood risk within the study area.
