The maximum allowable difference between the surface and the underside of the straight-edge, when placed parallel with, or at right angles to, the centre line of the road shall be 3mm. For each 75m lengths, maximum permitted number of surface irregularities shall be 9 and 1 for irregularity limits of 4mm and 7mm respectively. o Initial texture depth: 1.5mm (minimum) to 2.0mm (maximum) for average per 1,000m or complete carriageway lane where this is less than 1,000m. Initial texture depth: Average for a set of 10mm measurement shall be 1.2mm minimum. Interval and frequency of macrotexture measurements: 10 per 200m. Texture depth shall be measured by 10 individual measurements taken at approximately 5 m spacing along a diagonal line across the lane width.
