Refurbishment of an existing commercial kitchen within an operational Very Sheltered Housing development Lot 1: Hanover (Scotland) Housing Association is seeking to engage with the market ahead of a proposed tender opportunity for the refurbishment of the commercial kitchen at Chandlers Court, Elgin. The project comprises the refurbishment of an existing commercial kitchen within an operational Very Sheltered Housing development. The successful contractor will be responsible for delivering a fully operational commercial kitchen facility, including associated building, mechanical, electrical, ventilation and commercial catering installation works. The anticipated scope of works includes: 1. Strip out and disposal of the existing commercial kitchen, catering equipment and associated services. 2. Internal refurbishment works including commercial kitchen flooring, hygienic wall finishes, ceiling finishes and associated decoration works. 3. Mechanical, electrical and ventilation alterations required to facilitate the transition from a gas-fired kitchen to a fully electric commercial catering operation. 4. Supply, installation, commissioning and staff training associated with new commercial catering equipment and stainless-steel fabrication. 5. Review of the existing electrical installation and incorporation of any electrical infrastructure modifications required to support the proposed kitchen design. 6. Fire stopping and associated builders works arising from mechanical and electrical modifications. 7. Provision and management of temporary kitchen facilities to ensure uninterrupted catering services throughout the construction period. 8. Testing, commissioning, certification and handover of all completed works. The kitchen currently supports approximately 30 residents and forms a critical operational facility within the development. The project will be delivered within a live Very Sheltered Housing environment and contractors should have demonstrable experience of delivering similar commercial kitchen and refurbishment projects within occupied premises..
