Tender description
BIM has consistently supported a diversity of Research and Development projects and will coordinate with other agencies and RPOs to progress commercially focused ingredient opportunities in collaboration with industry stakeholders. The medium-term strategy is the progression of scale-up trials prioritising key species and specific ingredient focus areas determined by their desirability, feasibility and viability. This RFT seeks to provide the necessary data and insights by assessing the potential of specific Irish-sourced fish biomass, generating evidence from priority species and co-product streams, and identifying the most commercially attractive and scalable opportunities for investment and industry development. The work will help determine where Ireland can develop competitive advantages in marine bioresource utilisation and support informed decision-making on future research, innovation, and commercialisation activities. This will strengthen BIM's ability to engage with industry stakeholders, investors, technology providers, and downstream end-users in high-value bioresource markets. BIM estimates that the expenditure on the Services to be covered by the proposed Services Contract may amount to a maximum of €130,000 exclusive of VAT over the Term. However, Tenderers should note that this is a maximum figure, and should they wish to achieve a competitive advantage their bid should be priced accordingly. For further information on this tender competition, please see the accompanying tender documents.
