Tender description
Competent consultancy companies are hereby invited to tender to design, develop and deliver a minority community support programme, that will be delivered across the Rowallane and Slieve Croob DEAs (District Electoral Areas). The programme will provide participants with an engaging opportunity to explore the stories of migration, emigration, identity and belonging that have shaped Northern Ireland and its communities over generations. Through a combination of interactive workshops, genealogy activities, and a cultural study visit, participants will examine the historical movements of people that have influenced language, traditions, culture and community life, while also reflecting on their own family histories and personal journeys. About the buyer
Newry Mourne and Down District Council is a Northern Ireland local authority procuring goods, services and works across its district. Tenders are advertised through the council's MultiQuote portal rather than a single UK-wide site. Suppliers must register on MultiQuote before they can bid on any live competition. Above-threshold contracts now fall under the Procurement Act 2023, in force in Northern Ireland since February 2025. Some recurring works, including civil engineering, run through multi-year framework agreements. Recent competitions have covered highway improvements, community regeneration and minor works contracts.
UK local government drives £140bn in annual procurement, led by social protection (£66.6bn) and education (£57.1bn).
Over the past 5 years, most of Newry Mourne and Down District Council's contract awards have been in recreation, culture and sport, education and training, and construction work.
