Tender description
The aim of this DWP - WYCA funded Get Britain Working Trailblazer Programme is to engage the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector to support Leeds residents progressing towards and into employment and also maintaining employment. Due to the short-term nature of the funding, there is an expectation that funding will be used to scale up existing innovative interventions that are well evaluated and demonstrate outcomes relevant to our target and a proportion of the funding will be focused to pilot new activities and innovative approached which may not been trailed before to test their application in a real-life setting ## Contract award

About the buyer
Leeds City Council buys as a local authority, running commercial activity through Jaggaer, its source-to-contract system. Suppliers register on Jaggaer, list their capabilities and receive email alerts for new opportunities. Tender notices appear on Find a Tender under the Procurement Act 2023, and the council's live contract register is searchable on YORtender. A forward procurement pipeline on Data Mill North lists anticipated commercial activity for the next 24 months. Contract Procedure Rules set out how every purchase is carried out, whether competitively tendered or not. A voluntary Faster Payment Scheme settles invoices early for a small discount.
UK local government drives £140bn in annual procurement, led by social protection (£66.6bn) and education (£57.1bn).
Over the past 5 years, most of Leeds City Council's contract awards have been in construction work, health and social work and business services.
