Tender description

As a unitary authority the Council maintains both Street and Address Gazetteers, with approximately 5000 streets and 170,000 BLPUs (Basic Land & Property Units) with associated BLPU polygons. A comprehensive viewable Web Mapping service (with over 200 map sets and 650 plus layers (excluding basemap layers) is provided to both public and internal users (several hundred per day) with many different versions with different functionalities, including limited data input option e.g. for public consultations/issue reporting. The system also provides simple maps embedded into the Council’s web site as well textual ‘FindMyLocal’ service. The tender is to replace both elements and will include the migration of all data and configuration of equivalent map sets, versions and functionality i.e. approximately 650 layers/tables and 200 mapsets, associated macros, styling, templates, themes etc. Keywords: Web Mapping System, Gazetteer Management
