Tender description
This service provides routine elective secondary care, outpatient, diagnostic and treatment services for eligible patients under patient choice arrangements. The Provider is commissioned for following services • Orthopedics / Musculoskeletal including joints and pain management (in line with local pathways relating to the management of these conditions) The services will include, where appropriate • Pre-treatment e.g. referral processes; triage/clinical assessment; diagnostics; consultation; pre-treatment assessment and / or work up. • Treatment e.g. outpatient/ambulatory/inpatient treatment • Discharge e.g. expected physical, self-care, psychological capabilities prior to discharge. • Follow up e.g. specialist support post discharge, referrals to other general or specialist services such as GP or District Nurse, self-care requirements for a period up to and including 14 days post discharge service supports access to commissioned specialties including Orthopaedics, Spinal Services (where ICB is Commissioner), General Surgery. The provider is required to deliver the full patient pathway where appropriate, including referral management, triage, diagnostics, consultation, pre-treatment assessment, treatment, discharge and follow-up within the commissioned scope. The service is delivered by Spire Healthcare Limited from Spire Bristol Hospital, Redland Hill, Durdham Down, Bristol, BS6 6UT, which is included as an agreed additional premises, with any further premises requiring prior Commissioner approval. The award has been made following Direct Award Process B. The procurement has been conducted in line with Right To Choose requirements. This is an activity-based contract with no guaranteed value. The contract has been awarded for the period 01/04/2026 - 31/03/2027 with no provision for extension included NHS Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Integrated Care Board (ICB) and Gloucestershire ICB are currently working together in a formal "clustering" arrangement to prepare for their merger into a single, new organisation (name to be confirmed), effective from 1st April 2027. This procurement notice has been issued out by NHS South, Central and West Commissioning Support Unit (SCW) on behalf of the Commissioners.
