NHS Thames Valley Integrated Care Board (the Commissioner) has completed a Most Suitable Provider process in accordance with the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023 for the provision of a Women's Health Hub for Berkshire West (Reading, Wokingham and West Berkshire). The service will provide accessible, community-based women's health services, delivering shorter waits and high-quality evidence-based care for women across Berkshire West, including support for menopause, menstrual health and wider gynaecological conditions. Following assessment of provider submissions against the published Basic Selection Criteria and Key Criteria, the Commissioner has identified The Primary Care Alliance Community Interest Company as the Most Suitable Provider. The proposed contract duration is 30 months with an anticipated service commencement date of October 2026. The total contract value is £2,523,262 excluding VAT. The Commissioner has published this notice in accordance with Regulation 10 of the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023 and will observe the mandatory standstill period before entering into the contract. This exercise is being carried out by NHS South, Central and West Commissioning Support Unit (SCW) on behalf of the Commissioner Lot 1: NHS Thames Valley Integrated Care Board (the Commissioner) has completed a Most Suitable Provider (MSP) process in accordance with Regulation 10 of the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023 for the award of a contract for a Women's Health Hub for Berkshire West (Reading, Wokingham and West Berkshire). The service will provide an accessible, community-based women's health service designed to improve access to care, reduce waiting times and deliver high-quality evidence-based assessment, treatment and management for women across Berkshire West. The model is intended to operate as an integrated intermediate service utilising a predominantly, but not exclusively, GP and nurse-led workforce. The service will work collaboratively with Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust (RBFT), including support with clinical governance, participation in multidisciplinary team discussions, and provision of ultrasound services. The service will provide: • A service across the Berkshire West footprint. • Central triage and assessment working with RBFT. • Advice and guidance working with RBFT. • Community-based management of clinically appropriate lower-complexity conditions. • Outreach to women in underserved communities and marginalised populations to help address health inequalities. • Onward escalation to secondary care where clinically required. • Integration with GP records and local digital systems where possible. Following publication of a Prior Information Notice and completion of the MSP assessment process, the Commissioner assessed providers Basic Selection Criteria and Key Criteria and identified The Primary Care Alliance Community Interest Company as the Most Suitable Provider. The proposed contract duration is 30 months with an anticipated service commencement date of October 2026. The total contract value is £2,523,262 excluding VAT. This process has been undertaken by NHS South, Central and West Commissioning Support Unit (SCW) on behalf of the Commissioner. In accordance with Regulation 12 of the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023, the Commissioner will observe a mandatory standstill period before entering into the contract. Standstill period ends at midnight on 9 October 2026.
