Tender description

The event will be delivered via a presentation with contributions from Rochdale/GMCA and the Council's advisers. Please note that questions will not be answered during the event. Questions raised through the meeting will be recorded and responses will be provided following the event. These responses will be circulated to attendees alongside the presentation materials as part of the procurement documentation. Organisations interested in attending should register their interest by emailing daniel.hart@star-procurement.gov.uk and chris.farmer@star-procurement.gov.uk. Joining details for the Microsoft Teams event will be provided. Participation in the Bidders Day is intended to support market engagement ahead of the forthcoming procurement opportunity. About the buyer

Rochdale Metropolitan Borough Council is a local authority procuring supplies, services and works for the borough. Tenders and quotations are advertised on The Chest, an electronic portal covering public bodies across North West England. Registration on The Chest is free for suppliers wanting to bid. Procurement runs through STAR Procurement, a shared service the council operates jointly with Stockport, Trafford and Tameside councils. STAR Procurement supports contracts for supplies, services and works across all four councils. Suppliers can also access guidance on social value and tendering through STAR Procurement's resource area.

UK local government drives £140bn in annual procurement, led by social protection (£66.6bn) and education (£57.1bn).

Over the past 5 years, most of Rochdale Metropolitan Borough Council's contract awards have been in construction work, health and social work and architectural and engineering services.
