About the buyer
East and North Hertfordshire Teaching Hospital NHS Trust is a healthcare provider running acute hospital services from Lister Hospital in Stevenage. Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Welwyn Garden City is its second main site. Tenders above threshold are advertised through Find a Tender, alongside the Trust's own notices. Suppliers register and bid for its contracts through the Health Family eCommercial system, an Atamis-based portal used NHS-wide. Contracts span clinical service commissioning through to estates and facilities work such as fire alarm and access control systems.
UK health spending has nearly quadrupled to £241.8bn in 2024/25, £20bn up on the year before. £140.6bn of that went to procurement, the biggest sector of UK public spending and the fastest-growing.
Over the past 5 years, most of East and North Hertfordshire Teaching Hospital NHS Trust's contract awards have been in construction work, business services and architectural and engineering services.
