Tender description

This contract relates to the continued provision of the Council's corporate GIS platform by ESRI UK Ltd. The GIS platform is a business-critical system supporting mapping, spatial data management, asset information, and integration across multiple Council services. The contract has been awarded through a compliant direct award process, recognising ESRI's position as the incumbent supplier and the significant technical, operational and financial risks associated with migrating to an alternative GIS platform. The Council's existing GIS environment is extensively integrated with business systems, datasets and workflows, making continuity of service and retention of existing investments key considerations. The value recorded in this electronic contract record reflects the initial 5-year contract term only. An option to extend for a further 5 years is included, subject to future negotiation and the Council's internal governance and approval processes. The record will be updated once the extension value is agreed. For transparency purposes, the published Transparency Notice and Contract Award Notice were based on the estimated maximum value of the potential 10-year term (5 years plus the optional 5-year extension).
