RSPB Peatland Restoration and Heather Cutting, Allt Forgan, Lake Vyrnwy

Tender description

RSPB Cymru is looking to appoint a contractor to deliver works on the Lake Vyrnwy estate as part of an extensive ongoing programme of peatland restoration. This ITT covers 2 packages of work, Peatland Restoration and Heather Cutting, on the heft of Allt Forgan. Bidders can price for one or both packages. The peatland restoration work package encompasses a 310ha area of the heft, with the aim of restoring water tables across the blanket bog through ditch, gully and peat pipe blocking and enhancements to previous peatland restoration. Heather cutting will also be required across the heft to compliment the restoration work and reduce heather dominance in areas of deep peat.
