Tender description

Works are to be undertaken on the A75 / A76 Glasgow Road Roundabout (Cuckoo Bridge) Dumfries. Works involve signalisation of the existing roundabout, installation of pedestrian crossings, traffic sign upgrades and road marking modifications. Reduction of Speed limit to 30mph, carriageway widening, drainage upgrades, provision of new footways. The Scope of the works include: - Installation of new traffic signals at the roundabout. - Installation of cross carriageway ducts and cable trenching across the scheme. - Integration of signal control systems. - Construction of controlled and uncontrolled pedestrian crossing points. - Replacement or upgrading of existing traffic signs. - Installation of new signs as required. - Installation of traffic bollards and hazard marker bollards - Removal of old road markings. - Application of new road markings to align with the new traffic layout. - Implementation of new speed limit. - Excavation and construction to widen the existing carriageway. - Resurfacing Carriageway. - Construction of maintenance hard standing area. - Upgrading of existing drainage systems including repositioning of gullies, installation of new gullies and combined kerb/drainage system. - Installation of new filter drain. - Construction of new footways for pedestrian use. - Installation of kerbs, tactile paving and other necessary features. - Verge regrading/landscaping works - Vegetation clearance to aid visibility on approach to roundabout. - Cable trenching for new equipment being installed on site across the works area. Other work requirements onsite: - Installation of temporary traffic signals to facilitate phased temporary lane closures on the A75. - CAT Scanning to identify location of public utilities are present within the extents of work areas. - For foundations and trial pits, excavation of verge, using hand tools in the vicinity of services. - Removal of TTM
