Tender description

The existing equipment was purchased over fifteen years ago, has exceeded its expected lifespan, and is increasingly costly to maintain as spare parts become difficult to source. Additionally, the department currently has only two functioning colposcopes remaining across the entire gynaecology service. If either were to fail, it would significantly reduce clinical capacity and lead to longer waiting times. Replacing this equipment is vital to maintaining safe, timely, and high-quality colposcopy services. Colposcopy within Cardiff and Vale UHB is a core element of the Welsh Cervical Screening Programme, playing a crucial role in identifying and managing cervical abnormalities and early-stage cancers
