Approved List Provider Early Years Education Places Non Maintained Sector

Tender description

Newport City Council (herein referred to as the Council) invites tenders for the provision of early year’s education (pre-school) places in the non-maintained sector (private day nurseries, playgroup settings, childcare providers). Early years education places are to be provided free of charge to parents for their children aged 3 and 4 years, up until transition into Primary School reception class. The contract will be for a two - year period with an option to extend for a further 12 months subject to contract period review and the Service Level Agreement to be agreed after appointment. The approved list will be used to ensure that the registered education providers appointed meet the statutory regulations and the standards required by the Council in delivering early year (pre-school) places. It will run concurrently with the approved list already established in 2024, NCC-2023-148. Providers who are appointed to the approved list NCC-2023-148 need not apply.
