About the buyer

NHS Central East Integrated Care Board formed on 1 April 2026, merging Hertfordshire and West Essex, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, and Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes ICBs. Central East commissions clinical and non-clinical services across a large, diverse geography from its Ely headquarters. Clinical services follow the Provider Selection Regime, using direct award, most suitable provider selection or a competitive process. Non-clinical goods and services follow the Procurement Act 2023. Contract awards appear as transparency notices on the Find a Tender Service. A single 2026-2028 procurement policy replaces the three predecessor ICBs' policies.

UK health spending has nearly quadrupled to £241.8bn in 2024/25, £20bn up on the year before. £140.6bn of that went to procurement, the biggest sector of UK public spending and the fastest-growing.

Over the past 5 years, most of NHS Central East Integrated Care Board's contract awards have been in health and social work and printed matter.
