Tender description

The NHS and Local Authorities have a statutory responsibility affecting both children and adults to provide access to independent advocacy for specific groups of people. Provision of Independent Advocacy for Health and Social Care issues for individuals with a statutory requirement for advocacy under: Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000, Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003, Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007. As a statutory service that must be independent, this need is recurring. In addition, advocacy for people with substance use issues is an identified need across both HSCP areas, and both ADPs may join this contracting exercise to find a supplier who can also support delivery of MAT Standard care, specifically MAT Standard 8: Independent Advocacy and Social Support.
