Provision of First Aid Services for the International Ayr Show – Festival of Flight

About the buyer

South Ayrshire Council runs council services across Ayr and the surrounding area, and buys as a local authority through its own corporate procurement team. Contract notices and prior information notices are advertised on Public Contracts Scotland, the national portal for Scottish public bodies. Suppliers register on the PCS-Tender platform to take part in tendering exercises. Framework agreements route much of this spend, including Scotland Excel, Scottish Government frameworks and the Crown Commercial Service. The council also works with Scottish Procurement and councils across Scotland to share procurement knowledge and resources.

UK local government drives £140bn in annual procurement, led by social protection (£66.6bn) and education (£57.1bn).

Over the past 5 years, most of South Ayrshire Council's contract awards have been in health and social work, education and training and IT services.
