About the buyer

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust buys as an NHS trust and hosts the BSOL Procurement Collaborative. The collaborative procures on behalf of five NHS organisations across Birmingham and Solihull. Simon Clarke leads its Senior Management Team as Managing Director. The team reports quarterly to a Partnership Board. Procurement and Supply Chain services span the wider Birmingham and Solihull Integrated Care System. The Healthcare Supply Association named the collaborative Procurement and Supply Chain Team of the Year in 2023.

Over the past 5 years, most of University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust's contract awards have been in medical equipment and pharmaceuticals, business services and IT services.
