9379 PMC for Depot Fuel Tank Cleaning and Inspection Works

This PIN notice is intended to inform the market about the upcoming tender and seek early input from interested parties. Iarnród Éireann operates a number of fuel storage tanks at maintenance depots nationwide. These include above ground and underground tanks. A programme of cleaning and certified inspections will be undertaken. This will involve: • Safely emptying and isolating tanks • Carrying out full internal cleaning • Managing and disposing of hazardous waste • Conducting inspections to industry-recognised standards (e.g. EEMUA 159, API 653, API 570) • Providing clear inspection reports and repair recommendations Any subsequent repair works identified will be procured separately. Our intention is to establish a Qualification System of suitably experienced and competent contractors to deliver the cleaning and inspection services. Individual projects will then be awarded via call-off contracts under this QS arrangement, Iarnród Éireann are seeking feedback from the market. We welcome feedback on the feasibility of delivering the cleaning and inspection works as a single contract via a consortium or prime contractor / sub contractor arrangement rather than separate contracts.
