West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Authority is a blue light buyer that makes the procurement decisions for West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service. Where possible, quotations and tenders invite two local suppliers from within West Yorkshire.

Much of the buying runs through pre-tendered frameworks, with call-offs or mini-competitions among framework suppliers.

Over the past 5 years, most of West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Authority's contract awards have been in repair and maintenance, waste, cleaning and environmental services, and construction work.
