About the buyer

Historic England is the government's statutory adviser on the historic environment, and buys as a non-departmental public body sponsored by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. Operational departments manage their own procurements, backed by a central Procurement Team that oversees compliance. Central framework arrangements set up by the Government Commercial Agency or individual departments cover much of this procurement.

Over the past 5 years, most of Historic England's contract awards have been in business services, IT services and research and development.
