Tender description
BBV has developed its delivery strategy around several sub-lots across the Area North route, which encompasses both Sectors N1 and N2. We require a Contractor who can offer a comprehensive 24 hour available emergency spill response. Including containment, collection and clearance of all contaminated materials, both hazardous and non hazardous spills. Additionally, an electronic waste management system is required to support our delivery strategy. The complex nature of Area North in terms of geography, scope and scale has informed our packaging strategy for these works. We have divided Area North into 6 distinct geographical packages which align with sub-lot delivery strategies and approximately 86 compounds (subject to change) plus operational works areas requiring emergency response services Additional information: N/A

About the buyer
HS2 Ltd is a non-departmental public body sponsored by the Department for Transport, and buys as a central government agency building Britain's high-speed railway between London and Birmingham. Contracts above the public procurement threshold are advertised on Find a Tender, and smaller awards appear on Contracts Finder. Framework agreements cover major packages, such as the lifts and escalators for Phase One stations. Four tier-one joint-venture contractors, including EKFB and Align JV, deliver the main civils work. Those contractors procure their own tier-two subcontractors, who source further down the chain. Live subcontract opportunities are advertised through the CompeteFor portal.
Procurement spend from central entities makes up 66% of overall UK public spend.
Over the past 5 years, most of HS2's contract awards have been in construction work, metals and mining products and transport equipment.
