About the buyer
The Department of Defence is an Irish central government department. The Department provides liaison between the military and government. The military holds financial authority for procuring most goods and services. Defence procurement has largely followed EU procurement regulations. Built infrastructure cases from the Defence Forces go to that branch for review. The estate covers approximately 70 sites, including 14 permanently occupied barracks. A masterplan for each installation lets projects be tendered at scale.
Over the past 5 years, most of the Department of Defence's contract awards have been in construction work, architectural and engineering services and construction materials.
