About the buyer

The Essex Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner Fire and Rescue Authority governs both Essex Police and Essex County Fire and Rescue Service as a combined blue light buyer. Essex Police lists its contracts and invitations to tender on the Bluelight Database. Procurement across both services follows the 7 Force Procurement Supplier Charter, a collaborative framework shared with neighbouring forces. A single commissioner office oversees the commercial function for both police and fire.

Over the past 5 years, most of Essex Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner Fire and Rescue Authority's contract awards have been in construction work, repair and maintenance and security and defence equipment.
