About the buyer
NHS North Central London ICB commissions health and care services across Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey and Islington, working as one of England's integrated care boards. Clinical services are commissioned through the Provider Selection Regime rather than open competitive tender. Non-clinical goods and works follow the Public Contract Regulations and the Procurement Act 2023. Individual awards are logged in a public register of procurement decisions. Twelve NHS trusts and around 200 GP practices sit within its wider care system. The board formed in July 2022 under the Health and Care Act.
UK health spending has nearly quadrupled to £241.8bn in 2024/25, £20bn up on the year before. £140.6bn of that went to procurement, the biggest sector of UK public spending and the fastest-growing.
Over the past 5 years, most of NHS North Central London ICB's contract awards have been in health and social work, IT services and medical equipment and pharmaceuticals.
