About the buyer

NHS Cheshire and Merseyside ICB commissions NHS services, and formed in July 2022 from nine legacy clinical commissioning groups. Contracts are awarded by direct award, by varying an existing agreement, or through open competitive procurement. National and local framework agreements are also used, awarded directly or through a mini competition. Every award follows the Provider Selection Regime and the Procurement Act 2023. Providers can seek accreditation by contacting the ICB's procurement team directly. Procurement decisions are published in the ICB's PSR publication of decisions register.

UK health spending has nearly quadrupled to £241.8bn in 2024/25, £20bn up on the year before. £140.6bn of that went to procurement, the biggest sector of UK public spending and the fastest-growing.
