About the buyer

NHS Supply Chain buys as a central healthcare organisation, run by Supply Chain Coordination Limited on behalf of NHS England. Suppliers tender through the Jaggaer eProcurement portal, and opportunities above threshold are advertised on Find a Tender. Successful bids are listed on framework agreements managed by category teams. The NHS Core List aggregates trust demand into national contracts for standard commodities. Category teams coordinate key supply markets with NHS England and clinical networks. Procurement follows the Procurement Act 2023, in force since February 2025.

UK health spending has nearly quadrupled to £241.8bn in 2024/25, £20bn up on the year before. £140.6bn of that went to procurement, the biggest sector of UK public spending and the fastest-growing.

Over the past 5 years, most of NHS Supply Chain's contract awards have been in medical equipment and pharmaceuticals, food and drink and furniture and furnishings.
