Tender description
Contract for the Supply of Bio-mass Fuel. The Office for National Statistics' (ONS) property in Newport have two Endress USF-W Biomass Boilers 1Mw in output which use wood pellets. The units were installed and commissioned in 2010. ONS would only use gas as a temporary back up in the absence of an adequate wood supply. The boilers are fed from two 30 tonne capacity wood silos. Lot 1: Supply of Bio-mass Fuel. The Office for National Statistics' (ONS) property in Newport have two Endress USF-W Biomass Boilers 1Mw in output which use wood pellets, The units were installed and commissioned in 2010. ONS would only use gas as a temporary back up in the absence of an adequate wood supply. The boilers are fed from two 30 tonne capacity wood silos. The heating season runs from the 1st October to the 30th April. Historic consumption figures indicate that ONS use 200-400 tonnes of pellet per annum, 30-60 tonne per month dependent upon weather conditions.
