Tender description

The London Borough of Redbridge (“the Authority”) is seeking soft market testing information for the provision of an Oral Health Promotion Service. We are seeking to gain some market insight from providers with a track record of experience in all areas of an oral health promotion service. The oral health service is a targeted service offer with the aim to deliver an efficient and effective oral health promotion service and reduce inequalities in oral health and access to dental services across the life course in: • children, with a focus on young children; • older adults; and • children and adults with special needs. This service offers evidence-based interventions in targeted settings including supervised toothbrushing and fluoride varnish. The service also coordinates Brushing for Life for young children, recruit and train oral health champions and delivers training for the wider workforce. The responses provided will not “evaluated’’ or scored, as this exercise does not form part of a procurement process. Note: Please limit your responses to a maximum of 100 words per question. In order to take advantage of this opportunity you will need to be registered on the London Tenders Portal www.londontenders.org. Registration is free. All submissions must be made via the London Tenders Portal by the deadline. The deadline for completed responses to be submitted via the London Tenders Portal should be returned by midday (12 noon) Friday 29th November 2024. About the buyer

London Borough of Redbridge is a local authority that buys through its own Strategic Procurement Team. Contracts are advertised on the council's own website, Contracts Finder and the Find a Tender Service. Most general supplies are bought through pre-tendered framework agreements rather than one-off purchases. Crown Commercial Service, the Central Buying Consortium and the London Contracts and Supplies Group provide shared purchasing routes. The Strategic Procurement Team also coordinates bulk buying for local schools. Suppliers respond through open or restricted tendering and are judged on quality and value rather than price alone.

UK local government drives £140bn in annual procurement, led by social protection (£66.6bn) and education (£57.1bn).

Over the past 5 years, most of London Borough of Redbridge's contract awards have been in business services, architectural and engineering services and IT services.
