About the buyer
National Nuclear Laboratory is the UK's national nuclear science and technology laboratory, and a Contracting Authority in its own right. Suppliers register on Proactis, the laboratory's e-tendering platform, to bid for contract opportunities. A pipeline of upcoming activities is published roughly every quarter. Crown Commercial Service agreements also route work to suppliers. A university supply chain framework covers postdoctoral research, university consultancy and commercial research contracts. National Nuclear Laboratory is one of nine members of the Shared Services Alliance. The alliance has set up over 50 shared contracts for its members since 2009.
Procurement spend from central entities makes up 66% of overall UK public spend.
Over the past 5 years, most of National Nuclear Laboratory Ltd's contract awards have been in laboratory and precision equipment, architectural and engineering services and research and development.
