Swansea Council is awarding this contract to achieve the vision of an integrated and flexible Emotional Health and Wellbeing Service in Schools (counselling service) which would meet the need for building resilient children and young people. The focus on building resilience is a key aspect of the developing Integrated Wellbeing Strategy. Lot 1: Swansea Council has previously procured a Counselling Service for Children and Young People for the provision of a statutory school-based counselling service for children aged 10-18 (years 6-13) the Council has, up until now, extended the offer to all children from 4 year olds (Reception to year 5). Swansea Council is committed to promoting, supporting and nurturing children and young people’s emotional well-being and working with wider partners, including the Health Board, Third Sector, Private sector and other public services to achieve this. We are seeking to improve outcomes for children, young people and families and focus on early intervention and prevention, to improve emotional health and wellbeing which will make education a more inclusive and accessible experience and enable pupils to reach their potential.
