About the buyer
Whittington Health NHS Trust is an NHS trust in north London that hosts the Partners Procurement Service, a shared procurement team. PPS also serves Moorfields Eye Hospital, North Middlesex Hospital and Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. Tenders are advertised through the LPP e-tender system. A dedicated Senior Procurement Business Partner supports each partner trust. The PPS Board gives each partner trust a seat in setting procurement strategy. Purchases follow the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and standard NHS terms and conditions.
UK health spending has nearly quadrupled to £241.8bn in 2024/25, £20bn up on the year before. £140.6bn of that went to procurement, the biggest sector of UK public spending and the fastest-growing.
Over the past 5 years, most of Whittington Health NHS Trust's contract awards have been in repair and maintenance, medical equipment and pharmaceuticals and health and social work.
