About the buyer

The UK Atomic Energy Authority is the central government body behind the UK's fusion energy programmes and tenders every opportunity above a low-value threshold. Opportunities and notices are published on the Central Digital Platform, also known as Find a Tender. Bidders access all tender documents through EU Supply, the authority's centralised platform. Much of this procurement flows through government frameworks, including the Crown Commercial Service. A quarterly procurement pipeline gives visibility of larger forthcoming opportunities. Two published charters, on the supply chain and on social value, set out the authority's approach to its suppliers.

Procurement spend from central entities makes up 66% of overall UK public spend.

Over the past 5 years, most of the UK Atomic Energy Authority's contract awards have been in IT services, software and information systems and industrial machinery.
