Tender description
The British Embassy in Santiago is seeking for a SWOT Analysis of ESG in Critical Minerals in Chile. This analysis wants to focus in three objectives: A baseline understanding of the ESG approach and situation in Chile, including (importantly) a gap analysis of what is missing. An assessment of what Chile could do to fill those gaps, laid out in a releasable public report. Suggestions for how best His Majesty's Government (HMG) should support Chile in that work, including both how Chilean policy making could be influenced, for example though technical assistance, and the mapping of potential commercial opportunities for UK business, expanded in a confidential precis for His Majesty's Government (HMG). Details to the project and documentation can be provided by emailing AME.PROCUREMENT2@FCDO.GOV.UK. Please ensure to provide project title and project code when sending the inquiry. About the buyer
The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office is a ministerial department that buys through its own Commercial Directorate. Every procurement runs on Jaggaer, the department's eSourcing portal, where suppliers register to bid. Opportunities and awards are published on Contracts Finder, and bids above threshold need Central Digital Platform registration. A commercial pipeline is updated every quarter. Four category teams cover programme delivery, estates and security, digital and technology, and corporate services. The department runs its own frameworks, such as the Global Development Delivery Framework, and dynamic purchasing systems for construction and global facilities management.
Procurement spend from central entities makes up 66% of overall UK public spend.
Over the past 5 years, most of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office's contract awards have been in business services, transport equipment and construction work.
