About the buyer

Dacorum Borough Council is the local authority for Hemel Hempstead and the wider borough, and runs its own Corporate Procurement team. Tenders appear on Find a Tender, Contracts Finder and the Supply Hertfordshire portal. Supply Hertfordshire is a joint procurement arrangement the council has run with district and county councils across Hertfordshire since 2003. Registration on that portal lets a business bid for contracts across participating Hertfordshire authorities. Every supplier, whatever their size, goes through the same tender process to win council work. Enquiries about upcoming opportunities go to the council's Corporate Procurement team directly.

UK local government drives £140bn in annual procurement, led by social protection (£66.6bn) and education (£57.1bn).

Over the past 5 years, most of Dacorum Borough Council's contract awards have been in business services, construction work and software and information systems.
