Tender description
To manage and implement a comprehensive three year school based active travel promotion scheme across Wales in conjunction with local authorities / schools. Lot 1: Designing a programme or package of options to provide intensive and sustained engagement with schools. They will also be expected to show how they will enable inclusive provision. Creating a comprehensive delivery model to enable a wide range of schools (for example: urban, rural, primary, secondary, ALN) to address the barriers to active travel, working closely with teachers, parents, governors, volunteers, pupils, and local authorities to create a whole school commitment. Maintaining links and providing ongoing support to schools that have previously benefited from active travel initiatives, in particular the Active Journeys programme. Providing local project officers to work in schools to achieve measurable outcomes and leave a legacy and culture of active travel. The successful contractor will engage directly but also build the capacity within schools by nurturing and developing champions/volunteers.
