About the buyer

University of South Wales is a higher education institution, buying through a dedicated team in its Finance department in Pontypridd. Contract notices and awards are published on Sell2Wales, the procurement portal for Welsh public bodies. Lower-value notices below the EU thresholds go out through eTenderwales. Larger requirements are let as framework call-offs, covering library systems and campus facilities. The university buys collaboratively through the Higher Education Purchasing Consortium Wales, alongside universities across Wales. The Welsh HE Shared Services Project extends this collaboration across the wider sector. Suppliers can register interest directly with the procurement team.

Education procurement reached £47.4bn in 2024/25, the fourth-largest public sector budget.

Over the past 5 years, most of University of South Wales's contract awards have been in business services, construction work and education and training.
