About the buyer

Education Procurement Service (EPS) is Ireland's national sourcing hub for the education sector, buying for schools, Education and Training Boards and higher education institutions. Every tender EPS runs is published on the national eTenders platform. Framework agreements it manages span laboratory equipment and chemicals, library resources and agriculture and veterinary services. Health Service Executive libraries and public bodies can also draw down these frameworks directly. EPS links to the Office of Government Procurement's central deals for wider public buying. A monthly contract completion database tracks drawdowns, mini-competitions and one-off requisitions across its frameworks.

€29.5bn was the estimated value of contracts awarded across the Irish public sector in 2025.

Over the past 5 years, most of EPS's contract awards have been in laboratory and precision equipment, electrical equipment and lighting and medical equipment and pharmaceuticals.
