About the buyer

Mayo County Council is the local authority for County Mayo in the west of Ireland, procuring under Ireland's national Public Procurement Policy Framework. A five-year Corporate Procurement Plan, covering 2025 to 2029, sets the council's purchasing objectives. Works contracts such as plant hire are tendered through a Dynamic Purchasing System. Tendering for some contracts is organised separately by each of the council's Municipal Districts.

€29.5bn was the estimated value of contracts awarded across the Irish public sector in 2025.

Over the past 5 years, most of Mayo County Council's contract awards have been in construction work, architectural and engineering services and security and defence equipment.
